About

I am your typical field biologist typically seen wearing boots and mud, with a wide range of field gear from cameras to small containers, tweezers, a magnifying glass and a net. I’m happy spending hours in the field finding bugs, butterflies, dragonflies and enjoying the flora. I don’t mind the occasional bird or fungi (preferably edible) either.
I’ve been photographing for many years now. It started out with me borrowing my dads film camera as a kid. Not long after that I started doing paper rounds to buy my first film slr, and oh what joy. It was an addiction. I had to keep the paper rounds to be able to pay for film and devolopment.
With the arrival of digital slrs, at an affordable price i took up photography once again.  While its natural that I spend most of my time where the two interests meet, I also photograph the occasional still-life setup and landscape.

While  the site is up now, it didn’t get quite the best start. With a massive harddisc crash, during a round of backup, I lost most of my images. So the test gallery I had set up for a first run some time back (other galleries) is online, along with a few photos I’ve taken the last month or so (main gallery).
I hope you enjoy them as much as I did taking them! :)

All images taken by myself unless otherwise stated. No animals where hurt during the photography session though few individuals may have been contained for a short period of time (e.g. aquarium shots).
